Packing Your Bags

I am preparing to welcome my third child in May and as a veteran mom and doula you may be wondering, what will she pack in her hospital bags? This is a question I have been asked many times in my years of working with women who are preparing to head to the hospital to welcome their little ones into the world. So I am here today to share my list with you!

This list is a very comprehensive one. I am the type that really enjoys to have all the little comforts from home. I want to wear my own clothes, wrap up in my own towel after that first postpartum shower and have options other than the People’s Court for entertainment as I snuggle my newborn. Many others operate very differently… they want to use all of the hospital’s things, come home with no laundry and pack very lightly. All of these items are just suggestions, so take what works for you and leave the rest home. Honestly, you can show up at the hospital with yourself and a carseat to take baby home in and you’ll be good to go.
